A small group of Lay Eucharistic Ministers with help from some members of Axminster Churches Together take Communion
to the house bound and hold monthly Communion or worship services in every Care Home in Axminster.
Our ministry is to take Home Communion to those who cannot get to church to receive it on a permanent or short term basis.
We are at present developing our work within the role of Anna Chaplaincy and Anna Friends and hope to reach the more isolated and lonely elderly people in our community.
If anyone one knows someone who would like to receive Holy Communion at home
please contact Prue Russell on 07810112840 or email us by the Contact page.

There are many websites and apps for smartphone and tablets available designed to help with your personal devotions and bible study.
A few have been collected on the Resources page in the 'Our Community' section.
Please let us know if you know of other websites and apps that you have found useful and should be added to the list.

Food Bank & Hamper Collections
The importance of the foodbanks has much increased in the last weeks. Please consider donating food gifts and money because these really make a difference and are especially important under the present circumstances.
Currently it is not possible to donate via the church. However there should be donation boxes in the Tesco and Coop stores, or contact ACER.
Do make sure items are in date, non–perishable and not ‘started’ or re–boxed, as such items cannot be used by the food banks.
Thank you for your generosity.

Christians Against Poverty (CAP)
Debt is an insidious and demoralising problem which affects many people and drastically impacts on lives.
The Axe Valley Debt Centre is now open at St Gregory’s Hall in Seaton
Rev. Alison Finch is the Debt Centre manager. CAP provide a free service to provide solutions to debt problems.
They help anyone regardless of religious beliefs, race, nationality, age, gender, marital status or disability.
Part of Alison’s role is to have befrienders going with her to the families she helps to be a pastoral friend and guide.
This is a role that no other debt company offers and enable CAP to not only help people out of debt but also to talk to them about Faith.
If you feel you could help, please contact Alison at [email protected] or Sharon at [email protected]
Please do pray about this initiative and find out more by downloading this leaflet
