27 people from AVMC enjoyed a wonderful weekend at the beautiful Lee Abbey Community site on the North Devon coast. It was relaxing, affirming and really enjoyable as we took over about a third of the rooms and enjoyed a lovely time of fellowship and encountering God in this stunning environment – and we were blessed with fantastic weather!
It was a real joy to spend time, young and old, walking the beautiful countryside and beach, visiting famous Lynton where the historic Funicular Railway was running and gave a great view of the cliffs, coast and sea.
There was good food and good company; great accommodation in a venue with a real sense of years of ministry and service to God.
Saturday saw the sun out in gentle and idyllic beauty. Folk were able to visit the special places within the site and to appreciate the calm and restorative natural glory of the Abbey.
During the weekend there were opportunities for worship and fellowship. We had a series of sessions which were well supported.
The theme for the weekend was:
Renew, Refresh, Resource – Jesus Our Living Hope

There is no doubt that people were very much engaging with the theme and appreciated this wonderful venue and theme, reflecting upon our spiritual opportunity for a little ‘time out’.
The joys of the weekend were such a treat that there is real desire to repeat it in the autumn.
We pray God’s blessing upon all at Lee Abbey and those who have shared in this weekend
